Week in Hazel#

Week in Hazel is a weekly digest for the Hazel community, published by Andrew Blinn. Its masthead says the content is generated from the Hazel repository and GitHub data, with the reporting, writing and illustrations all AI-produced.

Issue numbers follow reporting weeks rather than publication order, so the series also runs backwards: issues with negative numbers are earlier weeks reconstructed after the fact. Those predate the Fumola work and do not mention it. Listed here are the issues that do, newest first.

  1. 001 Two languages. One notebook. September 4–10, 2026 Reads the Hazel integration the way the homepage does — a Hazel document naming an external runtime, livelits that share a store by naming the same instance, named thunks giving successive edits an identity inside it, and the two modes, simple by default and graphical recording nodes, dependencies and events as groundwork for a repair the examples do not yet exercise. It ends on the gap rather than the demo: the translation fixtures check the expected formats, but the evaluator suite skips the four live forms, so those tests can stay green while the published runtime changes underneath them.
